After a refreshing break it is great to have students back on campus. We are looking forward to hosting our annual State of the School event on Thursday, January 17. This is a great time for Danny Taylor, our board chairman, and me to update our families on school information and business. Dinner will be provided by the PTF at 6:00 pm and our meeting will start at 7:00 pm. Please mark it on your calendars and plan to attend!
Merry Christmas!I am so thankful to be able to share the celebration of Christ’s birth with your family!
I would like to share a story about one of our littlest PCS students. The morning of their Christmas program, the early morning of the big day, she woke her grandfather up at about 4:00 a.m.She kept nudging him on the arm and telling him to wake up!He asked her why she wasn’t asleep and she said “Because I am just sooooo cited!!!!”Well – she did not disappoint!About 350 blessed guests were also sooo excited as we watched the youngest of our PCS students act out the Nutcracker and recite the story of Jesus’ birth from Luke by heart. It was a great blessing to share that night with that little girl!
We are all looking forward and planning for the second semester!Thank you for your prayers and support. Please make sure and check your calendars and get some of the important and fun events in your plans for the New Year.Homecoming, Parent Information Nights, Parent Teacher Fellowship meetings…. We look forward to working together to continue to encourage, nurture and celebrate the work and accomplishments of our students in 2019.
May God bless you and your family.
Creating a Saavy College List
Leigh Moore’s presentation “Creating a Saavy College List” this Monday evening is generating a high level of interest among our parents. We have great news! While Leigh’s presentation will begin at 7:00 PM. as planned, the PTF is providing a salad and baked potato bar to help fit parent’s busy schedules.
Leigh Moore is a committed Christian who has been in private practice providing independent college counseling for students during the past decade. She desires to share her strategies and knowledge with Christian families to reduce the “fear of admissions and acceptance” to college and universities as well as facing the rising cost of higher education. Leigh sees this as a “buyer’s market” for college and she will share the data behind that view. During her Monday session parents will learn about college affordability, accessibility and admissions. She will help parents set boundaries that fit their family’s budgets and their faith convictions. Parents will leave with boldness and practical next steps in the college preparation and admissions process.
We understand the FAFSA season is in full swing for Senior’s parents. Questions many arisen since our previous FAFSA workshop. Parents with questions or concerns can meet with Gene Weiss, who has spent 13 years working for KHEAA will be on site, at no cost, to offer expert advice for parents submitting their FAFSA documents. Gene is able to offer one on one advice and assistance beginning Monday evening at 5:00. He is also available to interpret FAFSA results for families. These results will impact the “need based” financial assistance colleges and universities will ultimately offer students.
This evening can be “life changing” for families planning to send their children to college with a positive impact on college selection, college admissions and college financial aid.
