Early Education for Ages 2 to 5

Portland Christian Little School is comprised of Christian teachers who strive to provide an extension to families where children ages 2 – 5 can learn and grow in a loving, nurturing and safe environment. Our primary goal is to guide children in experiencing the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Little School uses a biblical worldview curriculum that stimulates physical, mental, social and, most importantly, spiritual development. Research shows that early childhood is the most important time of development in the life of a child and the foundation of everyday skills prepares a child for future academic success. We believe that “play” is the work of a child, and they learn best by doing so through teacher guided and child initiated centers. Daily activities and centers are focused on the weekly Bible story, phonics, math, handwriting, and imaginative play.

Description of Programs.

2 Year Olds – teacher/student ratio is 1:6
3 Year Olds (must be fully toilet trained) – teacher/student ratio is 1:9
4 Year Olds (must be fully toilet trained) – teacher/student ratio is 1:10
K4 Program (must be fully toilet trained) – teacher/student ratio is 1:10

PCLS Announcements & Reminders

Important PCLS Information

Label, label, label! Please make sure that your child’s belongings – backpack, lunch box, water bottle, and sweaters/jackets – are labeled with your child’s name or initials.
With cooler weather approaching, it’s a good idea to go ahead and keep a light sweater or jacket in your child’s backpack.
We are enjoying our outdoor time on the playground! To prevent injuries, please send your child to school in tennis shoes every day. Sandals and Crocs are cute but tend to get mulch in them on the playground.
Please put an extra change of clothes, including underwear and socks, in your child’s backpack
Updated immunizations and a copy of the original birth certificate must be on file the first day of school.
Please send a packed lunch with your child each day to our new location.
Carpool procedures for our new Springdale location will be coming soon!
