High quality education is an integral part of PCS.

The spiritual growth of our students has always been the main goal of our faculty and staff. As a Christian school we believe that God’s commands to do everything we do with all our might (Ecclesiastes 9:10) and “in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17) means that we are called to help our students achieve excellence in academics as an integral part of their spiritual growth. With that in mind, our administration works with our faculty to assure that every student receives a high quality education, thus preparing them to enter the world as Christians who have the educational background to pursue God’s plan for their lives. Each year between ninety and one-hundred percent of our high school seniors enter higher education of some type after graduation.

A wide range of activities gives the students a diverse experience.

Portland Christian offers many activities and courses that enhance the education process. PCS is a member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association and offers athletic opportunities for students from 3rd grade to 12th. Fine arts offerings range from elementary chorus and drama productions to high school drama teams and performing choir.

We seek to excel in the classroom and beyond.

The athletic teams that go into the public schools to compete are representing Christ Himself. Athletic successes that are spotlighted in the newspaper bring not only the name of the school but also Christ’s name to public awareness. The performing choir going into churches and schools from Indiana to Louisiana singing the praise of our Lord shows that Christ still lives in the youth of today. In these endeavors the choir member or the student-athlete becomes aware that the glory is not for them but for Christ alone. We offer these and many other opportunities for our students so they will be able to become complete Christ-like disciples of Him Whom we serve.
