Dear Portland Christian School Community,
As we close another school year, I am filled with deep gratitude and great joy as I reflect on all the Lord has done in and through Portland Christian School. This has been a very successful year, and that success is the result of God’s faithfulness and the shared commitment of so many people who love and support PCS.
To our students, thank you for your hard work, enthusiasm, leadership, and willingness to grow. To our teachers, thank you for your faithful investment in the classroom and your daily commitment to shaping both minds and hearts. To our coaches, thank you for building teams that pursue excellence with character. To our parents, thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and trust. To our financial partners, thank you for generously helping make PCS's mission possible. And to our school administrators, thank you for your leadership, wisdom, and tireless service throughout the year.
Academically, we have seen continued school wide growth and achievement. This growth is not simply anecdotal; it is being objectively measured through standardized assessments, including MAP, ACT,and SAT results. Across grade levels, we are encouraged by the progress our students are making and by the dedication of our faculty to strong instruction, meaningful assessment, and academic excellence rooted in a biblical worldview.
We also celebrate the growth and continued success of our robotics program. PCS robotics continues toe xpand in participation, skill, creativity, and competitiveness. It has been exciting to see students collaborate, problem-solve, and apply critical thinking in ways that prepare them for futureopportunities in technology, engineering, and innovation.
This year was also marked by significant spiritual growth and development among our students. Our off-site retreat, Ignite, offered students a powerful opportunity to step away from daily routines,worship together, hear God’s Word, and build deeper community. In addition, our Missions Week initiative sent 94 students to serve in Poland, the Dominican Republic, New York City, and Appalachia. Through these experiences, lives were changed and deeply impacted—both those being served and ourstudents who went to serve. We also rejoice that students received Christ and were baptized at school this year. These moments remind us that the heart of PCS is not only academic preparation, but also spiritual formation and discipleship.
In athletics, we have much to celebrate as well. We are excited that school records for wins were broken in fall sports, and we are also encouraged to see individual athletes setting new school records in spring sports. Our student-athletes and coaches have represented PCS with dedication, perseverance, and school spirit.
We are also encouraged by the launch of our student counseling program this year and excited about the planned expansion next school year. Supporting the emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of our students remains a priority.
Looking ahead to the next school year, we are anticipating record enrollment once again. We are excited to welcome our new Upper Principal, Daniel Head, and several new faculty members. Finally, we are thrilled to share the great news that we will bring a school ensemble/choir back to PCS next school year for the first time since before COVID! This is a meaningful step forward for the arts and for our school community.

Dear Prospective Portland Christian School Families,
Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family makes. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and learn more about PCS. I’m grateful you are considering PCS as a partner in your child’s academic preparation, socio-emotional development, and spiritual formation.
Portland Christian School is a welcoming PK–12 community serving students on two campuses. Our families come from a wide range of backgrounds, and we value the richness that brings to our classrooms and community life. We are also grateful for our growing ethnic diversity—19% of our student body—and we are committed to cultivating a school culture where every student is known, valued, and challenged to grow.
At PCS, four pillars shape our daily work and long-term vision:
Spiritual Development – We believe education is ultimately about discipleship. Our desire is for students to develop a thoughtful, resilient faith—learning to love God, understand His Word, and follow Jesus with conviction in every area of life. Academic Achievement with Integrity – We teach students to pursue truth with humility, think critically, communicate clearly, and do their work honestly and responsibly while reaching their highest potential. Doing the right things the right way matters.
Excellence in Athletic Competition – Athletics at PCS is an extension of our mission. We train students to compete with discipline, courage, teamwork, and sportsmanship—learning to lead and serve while striving for excellence.
Service to the Community – We want students to look outward. Through service opportunities and community engagement, PCS students learn to love people in practical ways and to be faithful contributors to their neighborhoods, churches, and city.
PCS is committed to meeting the academic needs of all students:
Rigorous Academics – Across all of these areas, our goal is not simply to prepare students to succeed, but to prepare them to stand firm. Graduates are well-prepared for university and real-life experiences through a wide selection of college credit courses (AP and Dual Enrollment), with some students graduating with nearly enough credits to begin the next phase of their academic journey as college juniors. Most importantly, our students are taught and assessed within a biblically based, Christian worldview.
Academic Interventions & Supports – We also recognize that students learn in different ways and sometimes need targeted support. Portland Christian School provides a robust intervention program for students who are struggling academically, ensuring they receive timely, focused help. In addition, we are excited to announce that we will launch a pilot special education program, the Anchor Program, in the fall of 2026, expanding our ability to serve students with identified learning needs in a thoughtful, mission-aligned way.
