MIDDLE SCHOOL

PROGRAM

Portland Christian School is a private, Christian school founded in 1924. The school, located on Westport Road, has served families in Louisville and surrounding areas for 99 years. The school’s passion is its focus on providing a Christian education to all families desiring a Christian worldview in the school setting.

In Middle School we infuse these transformative years with a focus on organization, physical health and biblical principles. We challenge our students to become servant leaders, to be honest and trustworthy, and to love and respect others. The Bible is integrated into all subjects at Portland Christian. Our students deepen their understanding of the Scriptures in our daily Bible class. Middle School students at Portland Christian take courses that will prepare them for success at the secondary level.

STUDENT BODY

SPECIAL

Robust elective offerings – These include fine arts, foreign language, and Nadus Institute (Video Story-telling)

Chapel and Small Groups – Regular opportunities for worship, prayer, and spiritual accountability

Clubs and Activities – Students discover their gifts and grow leadership skills through clubs, service projects, and athletic programs.

Community Service – Every year, Middle School participates in three missions projects to share the gospel in the community.

STANDARDIZED

Our students in grades K-11 take the MAP test three times a year. All schools are aiming for proficiency in student performance across the various subjects. Our scores show that the class averages for PCS students are in the Proficient or Nearing Proficient range in all subject areas.
