ABOUT

SPIRITUAL LIFE

Spiritual Life is central to everything we do at Portland Christian School. We exist to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

SPIRITUAL

GROWTH

Spiritual growth is our top priority as we seek to weave and integrate a Biblical worldview into all that we do and teach both inside and outside of the classroom. We have weekly chapel opportunities for all of our students along with daily Bible classes that seek to nurture our students’ faith and trust in Jesus.

We seek to develop students in the following three key areas: head, heart, and hands.

HEAD

It is important that students have proper knowledge of God. This knowledge is framed through God’s revelation of Himself and his relationship to humanity and all of creation throughout the Bible. We systematically teach students who God is and who they are in God’s plan for humanity and creation. Students engage in Bible classes where they go into depth in scripture and a biblical worldview.

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52

HEART

We seek to equip students with the ability to connect with God and develop devotional lives rooted in Christ. Our desire is that all PCS students graduate with a daily, personal, and passionate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. We have weekly chapel services that seek to engage students at their developmental abilities to worship, pray, and listen to God’s word together.

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16

HANDS

We want our students to know the unique ways that God has equipped them to use their gifts, experience, and calling to serve God and the kingdom. Students have the opportunity to engage in mission opportunities both locally and globally. We have partnered with such ministries as Lifeline Christian Ministries, Operation Christmas Child, Klothe A Kid, and Proem Ministries.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
